Arthritis Consumer Experts (“ACE”) is moving its “Arthritis At Home” program to a weekly summer schedule where new episodes will air on Thursdays, beginning on June 4th.
Arthritis at Home is the newest addition to ACE’s JointHealth™ Education program that makes it possible for people living with arthritis to watch or listen to video interviews with Canadian experts in clinical rheumatology, arthritis scientists, physio and occupational therapists, psychologists and health economists.
Since its launch on March 30, ACE’s new program has produced 28 episodes directly to our members, subscribers, fans and followers. The library of video interviews is available anytime, anywhere through ACE’s Facebook and YouTube channels (follow hashtag #ArthritisAtHome).
As part of the new summer schedule, Arthritis At Home will begin to offer interviews with leading arthritis consumer-patient leaders and advocates who either work or volunteer in our community across Canada. To kick off this new schedule, the first two episodes will focus on ACE’s 20th anniversary in 2020 and feature Cheryl Koehn speaking about ACE’s 20 years of programming and what she feels the future of arthritis education, information and advocacy will look like over the next decade.
Since 2000, ACE has been on the frontline of credible, research-based patient education development and delivery, and never have we seen a greater need for it than now. It can be a challenge for patients living with arthritis to get the latest, credible information about their disease from their peers online and from web searches. At the same time, healthcare professionals are increasingly looking to telehealth as a valuable tool to communicate and consult with their patients at home.
“ACE is constantly looking for new ways to reach members where they live and feel most comfortable – at home. Written words can never be replaced to share arthritis facts and news but being able to see and hear directly from experts is more important than ever. Arthritis at Home helps patients living with arthritis educate themselves and responds effectively to how healthcare will be delivered to them at home in the future,” said Cheryl Koehn, Founder and President, Arthritis Consumer Experts.
