Women and arthritis are strongly linked: Two out of three living with the disease are women; sixty percent of Canada’s medical students are women, and they will become doctors providing care to women with arthritis; women have led a number of significant advances in clinical arthritis research in Canada.
In this issue of JointHealth™ insight, Arthritis Consumer Experts (ACE) is proud to profile three women who “rock” the arthritis world:
- Dr. Janis McCaffrey, a general practitioner and mother living with lupus who shared her journey.
- Dr. Julia Alleyne, a Family Physician with a focus on sports and exercise medicine.
- Dr. Linda Li is an Associate Professor, Harold Robinson/Arthritis Society Chair in Arthritic Diseases, and Canada Research Chair in Patient-Oriented Knowledge Translation at the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia (UBC).
